Our Story

Holdorf’s Furniture Court & Beds R Us has a rich history that began in 1989 when husband & wife duo, Ray & Roslyn Holdorf acquired “Walkers Furniture, Homeflair” operating from the former Methodist / Uniting Church Building on Church Street Boonah.

In 1994, the business underwent a significant transformation relocating to a purpose-built showroom at 34 Yeates Ave, rebranding as the pioneering Furniture Court & Beds R Us in Queensland, a name that continues to thrive at that same location today.

In 2011, their third son David & his wife Tina took over the family business & in the same year opened a second store at 30 South Street in Ipswich within the historic RT Edwards retail building. The expansion did not cease there & in 2016, they unveiled a third location at 72 Brisbane Street in the Beaudesert retail precinct further cementing their presence in the region.

Over the past 30yrs, Holdorf’s Furniture Court & Beds R Us has continued to engage with the community with significant contributions through charitable initiatives & fundraising events. Their efforts have supported many local organisations including Local Schools, Charities, Sporting Organisations, Show Societies along with Breast & Prostate Cancer supporter groups.

Across the decades & supported by their fiercely loyal customers, all locations have won many accolades including Australian Furniture Retailer of the Year, Best Furniture Court & Beds R Us Stores along with multiple growth awards reflecting their commitment to the service of their customers. 

From its modest beginnings as a husband & wife venture, the business now collaborates with over 60 local & international suppliers, operates three prominent locations in Boonah, Ipswich & Beaudesert & enjoys significant buying power through partnerships with leading brands such as Furniture Court, Beds R Us & La-Z-Boy.
